XY Stereo Microphone Clips are engineered for "Coincident" microphone placement .
XY coincident stereo microphone technique provides excellent localization and mono-compatibility without an abundance of "spaciousness". XY is the easiest way for the beginner to record in stereo, yet XY is very useful to the advanced recordist, especially in multi-track and sound-for-picture situations.
To record using XY: Place two cardioid microphones in the clip with the diaphragms adjacent to one another. "Coincident" means that the mic diaphragms are as close as possible to one another. The close proximity of the microphone increases "time alignment" of sound waves, between the microphones and thus reduces unwanted phase cancellation.
JMA XY mounts are sized by microphone diameter and are available for diameters of 19mm to 25mm. We can fit nearly any microphone. Most common sizes are: 19mm, 20mm, 21mm, 22mm, 23mm and 24mm.
XY on Reverb.comJMA Stereo microphone mounts have become an industry standard because they are superior to traditional mounting systems:
-JMA "stereo mic clips" are dead-accurate.
-JMA clips are much faster to set and aim.
-JMA clips are easier to set up and aim .
-JMA clips hold their geometry and will not waste your time with constant adjustment.
-JMA clips can be supported from almost any angle, and are easily hung in a concert hall.
-JMA clips SOUND BETTER because they provide consistent results that enable users to make educated placement choices.
In short, JMA microphone mounts "just work".
