The JMAcoustic Mag-Mute is better than a sponge! This is the best bass mute we have ever played. It is great for getting that classic Motown sound. It sounds consistently great, especially in the harder to mute higher register.

The MagMute on Reverb.comPlacement of the MagMute is important to achieving the desired sound. Here are some tips to help you find a sound you like:
-Place the textured side of the mute toward the strings.
-Slide the mute to adjust the placement on the top and bottom strings independently.
-Generally, the mute likes to be very close to the bridge saddle on the G-string, but slightly further away from the saddle on the E-string.
